Via del Circo Massimo, 00186 Roma RM, Italy
Ancient Rome's largest entertainment venue, holding up to 250,000 spectators for chariot races, religious games, and triumphal processions — bigger than any modern stadium. The grass valley between the Aventine and Palatine still preserves the original 600-metre racetrack footprint, and you can walk the full length for free. Today it serves as Rome's largest open public space, hosting major outdoor concerts (the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen) and Italy's national football victory celebrations.
