Piazza Pietro D'Illiria, 00153 Roma RM, Italy
A walled medieval garden on the Aventine Hill, planted with bitter orange trees descended from those planted by Saint Dominic at the adjacent church of Santa Sabina. The garden sits on the foundations of the 13th-century Savelli fortress, and was opened to the public in 1932. It's one of Rome's most romantic sunset viewpoints, with the Belvedere terrace at its western edge — arrive 45 minutes before sunset for a parapet position, especially in spring and autumn.
